Don’t Let Your Boss MAKE You Come To Work Too Soon

If you are currently going through a workers’ compensation case after a workplace injury, you might not think that it’s necessary to hire a workers’ comp attorney. However, if your employer is urging you to come back to work before your doctor says that it’s okay — such as if your boss is threatening to give your job to someone else or if he or she offers to put you on “light duty” — then you need to hire a lawyer ASAP. No matter what, do not go back to work until your doctor says that it’s okay for you to do so.

Going Back to Work Too Soon Could Jeopardize Your Case

If you go back to work now, there is a chance that your workers’ compensation case could be jeopardized because of it. Basically, it could be argued that you aren’t really hurt at all if you are able to go back to work.

You Could Injure Yourself Worse if You Push Yourself Too Hard

There is a reason why your doctor says that you shouldn’t go back to work right now. You could hurt yourself worse than you are right now, or at best, you could slow down the healing process. Your health is the most important thing, and you shouldn’t jeopardize it by going back to work when you physically aren’t capable of doing so.

Even if your boss is threatening your job or nicely encouraging you to come back to work, you should not do so until you are cleared by a doctor. If you need help with this or any other aspect of your workers’ compensation case, contact us at Mike Lewis Attorneys today so that we can assist you.
